UCL’s role in the project is twofold, it will bring its expertise in computational statistics, machine learning and management and will run WP1 learning, WP6 studies in the wild and WP9 management.

 

INSTITUT JOZEF STEFAN

JSI leads WP2 analytics infrastructure, services and API and WP4 recommendation and brings the case study #1. JSI is the initiator of the OpeningupSlovenia initiative.JSI brings to the project its expertise in developing scalable mining analytic services on logs and content. Its software is used by New York Times and Bloomberg to analyze web logs, and to handles tens of millions of events per day, with one event containing complete description of the visited web page (text, meta-data), user (demographic data) and context (time, user’s location).

 

KNOWLEDGE 4 ALL FOUNDATION

K4A is the leader of WP7 dissemination and will get more case studies on-board from an identified number of 167 additional OER sites. It will strive to create innovative data challenges and disseminate the projects results in Europe and world-wide and showcase the importance and value of OER with the extended technology stack provided by X5gon.

 

UNIVERSITÉ DE NANTES

NA is leading WP3 learning analytics engine and includes analysis of learning and testing, cross-lingual aspects, links with educational theories, affective computing.

 

POSTA SLOVENIJE

PO will be leading WP8 exploitation as it is interested in expanding its business models to leverage and support open education and OER in Europe and globally via its network. It is part of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) which is also interested in ensuring a truly universal network of up-to-date products and services in its 192 member countries.

 

UNIVERSITAT POLITECNICA DE VALENCIA

UPV will be leading WP5 with a series of piloting studies understanding the user experience and brings the case study #2. It is fit for this purpose as it has already developed automatic machine translation and transcription tools.

 

UNIVERSITAET OSNABRUECK

UOS brings to the table the last #3 case study and provides all its data and access to users and the Opencast community.

 

MINISTRY OF EDUCATION OF SLOVENIA

MIZS is the main policy maker for education in Slovenia and member of OpeningupSlovenia. It will take part in WP7, delivering a strong agenda in Open Education, Open Learning Environments, OER and skills creation via X5gon technologies. It will make sure to disseminate to all governments including the 195 UNESCO Member States and Commonwealth of Learning 52 Members, culminating at the “2nd World OER Congress” in Ljubljana, September 2017 addressing all nations on X5gon projects power of data-driven OER and governmental policies for OER. Via OpeningupSlovenia It will make sure to address policy changes for disabled people based on the results of X5gon and OER materials.
